* <code>\x</code>: single byte.
* <code>{...}</code>: strings and raw data, suffixed with a <code>\0</code> byte. To support the transmission of raw (binary) data, and avoid confusion with the suffix byte, all <code>\0</code> and <code>\FF</code> bytes that occur in the data itself need to be prefixed with <code>\FF</code>.
