First of all, launch the [[Startup#BaseX HTTP Server|BaseX HTTP Server]], which will itself start a an instance of the [http://jetty.codehaus.org/jetty/ Jetty WebServer] that listens to the default port <code>8984</code> (check out the additional [[Startup Options#BaseX HTTP Server|command-line options]]).
Most browsers can be used to get to know the REST API, and to directly display the results.
