As BaseX aims mainly for efficiency, the maintenance of indexes is left to the user.
This requires the user to call the [[Commands#OPTIMIZE|OPTIMIZE]] command after allcommand if up-to-date index structures areupdate operations have been executed: multiple update operations can be performednecessary. Using much faster this approach guarantees fast updates way, and fast access at the same timedatabase meta data is only updated and regeneratedonce in the updating process.
