All HTTP operations in BaseX, including those performed through XQuery modules such as the [[HTTP Client Module]], take advantage of the new [https://openjdk.org/groups/net/httpclient/intro.html Java HTTP Client], which provides a better overall performance and e.g. follows redirects across different protocols (http, https).
* The new [[Store Module]] provides a persistent main-memory key-value store for speeding up operations on frequently accessed data.
