| Operation mode. By default, the value is "{{Code|local}}": the servlets will access and store data locally using work with a local database context {{Code|org.basex.path}}. If "With {{Version|7.3}}, the {{Code|client}}" mode has been replaced with a new {{Code|server}} mode, which is specified, all operations are performed on equivalent to the default mode of the [#Standalone Application|Standalone Application]: a remote BaseX database server instance (will be started with the login data first call of a service, which is stored in the {{Code|.basex}} configuration file)then available for other clients, too.
